Meet the Speakers - Bios

Mark Minier, MD, FAAP

Dr. Minier is a community pediatrician at Unity Health Care in Washington, DC.  He has worked at the Upper Cardozo Health Center for 3 ½ years where he works with an underserved, predominately immigrant, population.  He is a participant in the National Health Service Corp Loan Repayment Program.  Dr. Minier is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the George Washington University College of Medicine and precepts one Children’s Community Track resident.

Dr. Minier currently serves as the co-chair of the DC American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Young Physicians and is also the board president of the DC Assembly on School Health Care.  Starting in July 2009 he will be a member of the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on School Health.

Dr. Minier attended the University of Rhode Island and graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Zoology in 1995.  He graduated from the College of Medicine at the State University of New York Health Science Center in Syracuse.  He then completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. 

Dr. Minier’s career interests lie in urban child health, immigrant health care, school-and community-based access to health care services and health promotion.
